OLD LIGHT

I have this vision of a floor lamp made from an old car headlight. It came to me when I was at a swap meet last year. So I got my brother-in-law to source me out one, I knew he'd find what I was after, he reminds me of the guy in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance - if somethings worth doing, its worth doing right. He has a walk-in toolbox and its got everything you could possibly need in it and a lot of stuff you'd probably never need.

Here's my starting point an old dodge light.

Here's kind of what I hope it will end up like but I don't mind if it takes its own shape as long as everything feels comfortable together and gets along.

DAY JOB

This is some of the location paintings I've completed in the last few weeks. We are in a kind of pre-pre-production phase because even though our gig is to find the visual style for the film and also do the majority of the production design, its not actually a green-lit film yet, I won't go into details about the film or even its title in case it never gets off the groug. When and if it happens, I suppose all this extensive, exhaustive exploration work will be worthwhile. Here's a sample of some key locations.

Just to digress for a second, I have a weird narration voice in my head. Out of curiosity I bought the audiobook of "No Country For Old Men" to see if the movie had the same or a different flavour. I'm enjoying it but now that I'm writing my words are being spoken in my head by an ornery and world weary southern sheriff. Its quite unsettling.

BLOGGED DOWN

Welcome to installment 01 of my Blog in which I will expunge from my brain all the random effluvia that builds up on a daily basis. I hope it will be enlightening and enriching and help me to think straighter, or rounder as the case may be.

I've been working on artwork for my brother's band DISQUIET http://www.myspace.com/DisquietSongs and this is the image as it stands currently plus some weird stuff I thought might be good to incorporate inside the CD booklet.
