Once Were Wild Things

I'm doing a modernisation of the Where the Wild Things Are for MAD magazine. Maurice Sendak is probably my favourite and most influential illustrator. Once you start trying to emulate his line work and hatching you almost begin to fall into despair because it is so damn hard - I'm enjoying the challenge though.

Its been months since my last post I've been too caught up in day to day commerce and have neglected my own artistic pursuits, I recently purchased an amazing book

and it has fired me up to make sure I keep that inner life feed. This was a day trip to the city which turned into a day of exploring and walking around with a camera and a new journal to break in.
